The coronavirus appears to target both fat cells and certain immune cells within body fat, which may explain why overweight and obese people are more likely to develop severe COVID-19, researchers report.

Professor Michael Levitt, who teaches structural biology at the Stanford School of Medicine, recently spoke out about the coronavirus data. He explains that the sweeping lockdown measures were an overreaction that will backfire.
