Thanks for your comment! Well, I would suggest it can make a difference. Here's why. If less people ate meat, there would be less of a demand. With less demand there would be less incentive to raise cows for slaughter. Less cows raised = less effect on greenhouse gases. Involvement in politics, science or technology will not reduce the effects of raising cows, will it? It could help in other ways and I recommend being involved, but it will not reduce the environmental impact. Just like taking a pill might reduce the 'effects' of a health condition, but it will not heal it - the source of the problem to begin with. If all we did is focus on politics and science and continued eating meat, how would that reduce the effects?

hey, I don't see how this is the single best way to help the environment. The single best way would involve becoming involved with politics, science or technology. One person not eating meat will not adversely affect the meat industry.

[...] Eating a diet free of animal foods almost completely eliminates most metal poisonings, bacterial infections (like e. coli) and other health problems caused by animal foods including high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and more. In fact, one of the best things you can do for yourself and the environment is to eliminate animal foods from your diet. [...]
