Pass on Meat and Soda To Avoid Heart Disease According to Study
Not surprisingly, new research from the University of Minnesota show that consumption of red meat and soda significantly increase the risks of heart disease.
The researchers worked with just under 10,000 participants and noted that those eating 2 or more servings of red meat daily were 25% more likely to develop symptoms of metabolic syndrome than those eating meat twice a week. Metabolic syndrome symptoms include excessive fat around the waist, high blood sugar, high cholesterol and high blood pressure.
The study also found similar results to those drinking diet sodas.
A combination of red meat and diet soda normally leads to unhealthy lifestyles the researchers found.
This isn’t surprising, animal foods are the leading cause of most disease and obesity and is the only source of cholesterol. And diet soda is just sugar (normally high fructose corn syrup) is completely without nutrition and wreaks havoc on your blood sugar. A primarily vegetarian diet has been proven the best diet for heart health across the board.
Here are some additional suggestions to reduce your risk of cancer and most any disease:
- concentrate on a diet of mostly fresh, ripe fruits, vegetables, nuts, seed and natural, living grains
- reduce or eliminate the effects of stress in your life
- drink lots of water
- get at least 30 minutes of natural sunshine daily
- stay active and exercise daily
- eliminate processed, convenient and junk foods from your diet
- choose organic foods as much as possible
To your best health!
