No Surprise, Caffeine Increases Pregnancy Risks

Another research study has been release that confirms what I've always believed, women who drink the most coffee daily, containing 200 milligrams or more, have double the risk of miscarriage as those that avoid it.
200 milligrams is approximately 2 cups of coffee or 5 caffeinated beverage.
The study from Kaiser Permanente Research Division concluded that women who are pregnant should avoid caffeine completely. The risk of miscarriage in those women who drank coffee during pregnancy was a staggering 25% compared to 12% in those that didn't.
The study noted that caffeine was the culprit, not other toxins found in coffee.
I may disagree.
By itself, caffeine reduces necessary protein digestion compounds (required to digest protein in your body), depletes the body of calcium, water, potassium, vitamin B and manganese. But caffeine itself, which is toxic and stimulating, is often the least of your worries. There are at least 30 chemicals , carcinogens, excitotoxins, toxins and irritants normally found in coffee. Some of these destroy brain function before they kill you. Imagine what it can do to your fetus.
Pregnancy and the period before conceiving is probably the most important time to keep your body clean and provide the best environment for your child to develop in. The fetus is completely dependent on you and everything you do affects your baby.
Here are some suggestions:
- concentrate on a diet of mostly fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, seed and natural, living grains
- reduce or eliminate the effects of stress in your life
- drink lots of water
- stay active every day
- eliminate processed and convenient foods from your diet
- choose organic foods as much as possible
To your (and your child's) best health!
