Dan Fogelberg Dies of Prostate Cancer, Didn’t Want Others To Suffer Like He Did

Popular singer and songwriter Dan Fogelberg died the other day of advanced prostate cancer. I’ve read that the cancer was detected in 2004 although was too advanced for doctors or treatments to help. He spent the last few years of his life enjoying his family, skiing, his new home and friends. One of his last wishes was to get the word out about prostate cancer so others don’t have to go through what he did.
Prostate cancer affects 1 in 6 men in America, although it need not to. Prostate cancer can be easily prevented by dietary and lifestyle changes. In fact recent research has found that something as simple as getting daily exposure to sunlight has proven to reduce the incidents of cancer by 77% (it’s been found to prevent/treat as many as 17 different types of cancer including prostate cancer) and helps strengthen your immune system.
Obesity has an impact on prostate cancer as well. Studies show that overweight men have a 25% greater risk of death from prostate cancer and mildly obese men a 46% higher risk. Severely obese men had double the risk of death.
And treating prostate cancer too fast has been found to be worse than doing nothing at all. Many men react from fear and immediately opt for treatment. Unfortunately, surgery and radiation treatments for prostate cancer can cause serious lifelong side effects, including pain, incontinence and impotence.
Studies from Harvard Medical School show that men with prostate cancer following conventional treatment have a five year survival history but also have a higher rate of non cancer causes of death. Additional studies show that men choosing conventional treatments have increased risks of heart disease and diabetes.
Since prostate cancer growth is normally slow, making immediate changes in diet and lifestyle make the most significant impact on reverting the cancer growth and returning to health. Instead of opting for modern medicine that is now proven to increase risks of other diseases and causes of death (all drugs are chemicals and have side effects), going back to basics and choosing to take care of ourselves naturally is what’s always proven to work best.
Effective diet and lifestyle changes include:
- getting plenty of sunshine daily
- removing animal products from your diet
- removing processed foods from your diet
- staying active daily for at least 30-60 minutes
- maintain a diet rich in fresh, organic fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, especially fresh, organic leafy green vegetables, broccoli and tomatoes
- keep a positive outlook on life
- maintain an attitude of gratitude
- reduce or eliminate the effects of stress in your life
Most every cancer is treatable and preventable. If the cancer is advanced, there are also hundreds of natural cancer treatments that are non-toxic, non-invasive and effective in reversing the disease while you make dietary and lifestyle changes to return to health.
To your best health!

You have to be kidding. I do hope that people seek treatment and dont try to self medicate with nuts and positive thoughts. We live in amazing times Please do a google searh on Pat Walsh and Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Hes doing amazing things for men with prostate cancer.
Bill, you’re missing the whole point. Prevention is the key, not waiting and then ‘having’ to treat with modern medicine. Research shows that on average men that get conventional treatments live only 5 years (and have increased risks of heart disease, diabetes and more), but those that change their diets and lifestyle will outlive them without the pain, suffering and side effects of those treatments. Go to NewsTarget.com and search for prostate cancer and look through the dozens of studies done that support this. Sure, if you’re diagnosed and don’t do anything, keep eating the way you do and don’t make any changes, you may have to resort to conventional treatments with all the dangerous side effects and limited life span. Why go through that? The point is to make lifestyle changes today and not wait until it’s too late. That’s what modern medicine is hoping for and the only way they make money. That’s why prevention is and never has been a priority to the medical community since there’s no profit in healthy people. I read about Pat Walsh and they’re raising all kinds of money to fight prostate cancer. For what? To be able to pay them and all the other doctors to find a cure. Modern medicine can’t cure cancer, it can only treat it. The only way to cure it is through your diet and lifestyle (not just nuts and positive thoughts, but it’s a good start). It doesn’t cost anything and has been proven over and again. You can’t put garbage into your body, treat it like garbage and then expect it to work properly without any difficulties. All the best to you. Mark
