Popular Pain Killers Increase Blood Pressure

According to a new study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, middle aged men that took popular over-the-counter pain killer medications were found to substantially increase their risk of high blood pressure.

Men that took acetaminophen, ibuprofen and aspirin were found to have between 26-40% higher risk of high blood pressure.

Two other studies found a similar co-relation in women as well.

"People should be aware that these drugs have potential adverse effects.... I would recommend that individuals limit their use of these medications unless they are clearly indicated." - Senior Author Dr. Gary Curhan noted.

As with most medications, they only mask the symptoms without getting to the root of the problem. Maintaining a healthy diet, being active and managing stress are far more effective in managing (or eliminating) pain... without the side effects.
