AntiDepressant Drugs Don’t Make A Difference

In a story that’s rocking the pharmaceutical world, a study published in PLoS Medicine, a respected medical journal, reports that antidepressant drugs made little difference in treatment when compared to a placebo.

This exposes a long term hoax the pharmaceutical and medical industry has been running at the expense of hundreds of millions of patients.

The study shows that only severely depressed patients showed some improvement, but that was more due to the ineffectiveness of the placebo rather than the effectiveness of the drugs. Little if any difference was detected with the use of prescription antidepressants.

Why take toxic chemical drugs for a condition like depression that can be treated completely naturally, without medication and at little or no expense? Why pay hundreds of dollars every month to pop a pill that’s not effective in the first place?

And alternative therapies such as exercise, particularly outdoor exercise, has shown to be very effective in combating depression.

Our country has become overdosed on medication, due to what I believe is a lack of patience (but not a lack of patients!). Convenience or a ‘quick fix’ seems to be the guiding principle in the ‘over-medication of America’ for many. The only way to truly heal is to allow our bodies to do it naturally. We just need to get out of the way and our system heal.

There are natural methods and treatments for most every condition, illness and disease including cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, depression, stress, cardiovascular disease and others. And these come without side effects or the large expense of drugs.

The best start in treating any condition, before risking your health on prescription drugs, is changing your diet.

Effective diet and lifestyle changes include:

BTW, on an side note. During the two days after this study was released it didn’t become one of the most popular terms searched on the internet. Do you know what were? Terms relating to an Oregon Mayor that posted pictures of herself on her MySpace page, “Britney Spears pregnant” and “Project Runway Finale” among famous (or infamous) people that had died. Nothing about how the pharmaceutical industry has bilked millions, no billions from Americans promising a treatment for depression that doesn’t work. Perhaps this is an example why!
