Another Reason To Lose Weight, Obesity Linked To Infertility

A recent study has uncovered a link between obesity and ovulation, as well as infertility in women who ovulate regularly.

The study featured in Human Reproduction and reported on WebMD noted that severely obese women were 43% less likely to achieve pregnancy than normal weight women. Overweight women were 26% less likely.

In addition to your overall health, this is another reason to slim down to your optimal weight and bring your child into a healthier world.

There are many ways to shed your pounds, the most important being:

  • eliminate processed and most animal foods from your diet
  • drink lots of water starting with 2-3 glasses when you wake up
  • eliminate sugary drinks including sodas, energy drinks and juices
  • stay active by exercising daily
  • reduce or eliminate the effects of stress
  • get an adequate amount of sleep
  • focus on adding as many fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds into your diet

Many women, and especially moms have had great success losing weight and regaining their bodies with Holly Rigby’s Fit Yummy Mummy program. Diets don’t work, Holly’s program is a lifestyle modification which is the only way to gain permanent weight loss.

To your best health!

flax seed @ 8:09 am:

Learned about this from CNN. It appears that excess body fats has a way of causing an imbalance with reproductive hormones and even trigger the condition called polycystic ovarian symptom. Better for overweight women to lose weight first if they intend to get pregnant. Probably a diet change and supplementation with flax seed would help to this end.
